16/05 - Communicacion de Jose

Today we start La conquête du monde par l’image, a two week event around the theme of MAY '68 at M'ATUVU. You know... the big student revolutions in the '60s. The event is organised by a group of young artists who're organising expo's, lectures, performances and so on. Check out the M'ATUVU website, or go directly to their blog: laconquetedumondeparlimage.wordpress.com.
Our previous M'ATUVU event Les Strategies Courbes by Marc De Meyer and Mohamed Benaji was pretty nifty!! Thanks Marc and Mohamed for your impressive work! Here you have some impressions:

Besides this, we're still busy on some ongoing projects like Pukkelpop and Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods.
And since the weather is becomming nicer these days we're fulling enjoying some 'extra-mural' activities ;)

That's all Folks!

About The Embassy

Hello... I am Jos.
I am just a concept.
I am not real.
I am the result of the stupid mindblowing ideas of my creators at JosWorld.

JosWorld is a brussels-based creative thinktank founded by five young graphic designers. They have a great design concept, but unfortunately they don't know how to explain it to you. Briefly, it contains this:
organised chaos.
interaction.
patterns.
mathematical systems.
surprising results.
turning the world 90 degrees.
no restrictions by current trends or habbits.
recycling.

To have complete freedom, they created this world, and called it JosWorld.
I am Jos.
I represent my creators in this world.
JosWorld gained it's independency in september 2004... because...
wel...
why not?
You never dreamt about owning your own world?

Beursschouwburg (1st season)

It all started with this one...
We got comissioned to restyle the Beursschouwburg's identity and communication. Kept the old logo though, because we really liked it ;)

Pukkelpop '07

Complete identity redesign for this great summer music festival. For the first time the design was not limited to print and web campaign only, but extended on the terrain as well. JosWorld even introduced Rufus... a real 3D fluffy version of the PP-animal! With him we had the greatest adventures...

Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods

Communication design for this Belgian-American dance company

Groovy Green

A project for a more environmental friendly summer festival. The resulting installation was presented at the 2007 Werchter music festival. JosWorld did the overall communication design, and took part in the construction of the booth. Everything was done ecologically, wich included eatable flyers and green printing processes.

In-Transit

We were the overall Design partner for In-Transit, the first European Commission film project. This project was an intense collaboration between several european nationalities, resulting in a full HD movie short. One of the highlights of the project was a flash-based - train like - and custom made community platform: the Virtual Train.

Museum Night Fever

First ever museum night in the Brussels museums. A real hit. Completely sold out. Great after party. Jos really liked it!
Sure up for a next edition!

Werkplaats Zimmer

Identity design for this Antwerp-based theatre and dance company.

Pukkelpop 2008

After a succesfull first edition we're now pimping them again. Emersing you even deeper in the crazy Pukkelpop-world of Rufus and his friends!

Polsslag 2008

These days every succesfull outdoor festival must have it's indoor sister. So the Pukkelpop gang gave birth to Polsslag, a more alternative indoor music festival.

Rock Zottegem

Even more festival fun... This cool music event in Zottegem. Jos got commissioned to completely restyle them. Oi!

WorkShots for BRXLBravo 2007

For BRXLBravo 2007 we organised a series of WorkShots, being very fast 15min short workshops about everyday subjects. Local Masters of Experience tought you funky things like how to speak Russian in 15 minutes, to tie your shoelaces, how to pretend you're a famous jazz-critic or to make you own lethal home brew long drink coctail. Real people, real topics, real fun!

Showcase Jarno

Fashion illustrator Jarno Kettunen showcased his latest work at our office (currently the M'ATUVU project)

Live Printing / Live Drinking

Webcams, a printer and lots of drinks and music. These were the ingredients for the gig we did for the Nuit Blache 2006.
Webcams hung on eye-level, took random pictures of the crows, and sent them to a printer attached to the ceiling. Time stamped photograps would twirl down like falling leaves.
Lowdjo mixed the whole evening together with some funky beats and breaks!

Inside-Out

A cool performance for the Nuit Blanche 2007.
A grand piano, some overhead projectors and lots of water...
Digitally presenting an analogue performance...
A Japanese pianist player improvises around the 4 elements of nature. JosWorld improvises on thàt with analogue visuals, made on the spot. The whole thing gets digitally remixed and projected. Brought as a performance, the crowd only could experience the event from outside trough speakers and projection. Real fun to do! Since then we're completely crazy about overhead projectors!

CrossOver/CrossWalk

The famous pimped 'zebrapaden' in Hasselt...
Jos wouldn't be Jos if we didn't have our own crossover to pimp. So we let our very own 'zeebieten' loose on it and they really tried to eat the stripes! Damn those creatures!
Our design even became the campaign image for the whole project. Cool and sweet!

Bellevue

In 2007 we got the chance to join the 'Bellevue - Creative Brewery' project from Art2Work.
This was to turn the old abandoned Bellevue brewery into a new creative hotspot in the center of Brussels. Four floors of artists and creative organisations now work there and made the place a melting pot of creativity and funky events. Jos created a temporary and completely reusable structure on the top floor that now houses our Embassy.
